Paul Myers is an orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in sports medicine and shoulder and knee arthroscopy. As a former athlete himself, Dr. Myers has a deep understanding of what it is like to be injured and unable to play sports or do certain activities. He has dedicated his life to helping people understand their diagnosis and treatment options and get them back to their sport or hobby.
Dr. Myers went to medical school at Des Moines University where he graduated with honors. He completed residency with OhioHealth in Columbus, Ohio and sports medicine fellowship in Buffalo, NY where he gained valuable knowledge and experience while helping take care of the professional athletes on the Bills and Sabres. In addition to treating athletes and sports-related injuries, Dr. Myers specializes in injuries and ailments involving the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. He has been trained in state-of-the-art procedures to treat shoulder instability, rotator cuff tears, ACL tears, meniscus pathology, cartilage restoration, and many others. He also has a strong interest in shoulder arthroplasty, trauma/fracture care, and non-operative management of general musculoskeletal conditions when appropriate. Throughout his training, Dr. Myers has developed a keen appreciation for a team-based approach to patient care and works closely with athletic trainers, physical therapists, coaches, and other physicians to ensure the best possible outcome for his patients.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Myers enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, weightlifting, music, movies, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. He is excited to start practicing in Maryland where his wife is from and serve the Hagerstown community.
